St A’s Contribution Status as of – April 12th: Over the years, many corporations in the Diocese have participated in the Matching Gift Program. When making your pledge to the 2024 Bishop’s Appeal, please consult with your employer to determine if they match gifts. If your company does participate, the Diocese of Bridgeport or its designated agencies such as Catholic Charities, Catholic Academy of Bridgeport, or Foundations in Education, may qualify for these additional funds

As we continue to celebrate the 50 days of Easter, we thank God for the participation of our teens in our Holy Week and Easter liturgies. From the reception of the Sacraments of Initiation for nine high school teens (including FOUR Baptisms!), to serving our parish as readers, ushers, having their feet washed, servers, delivering Easter baskets to children in crisis and bringing to life Jesus’s Walk to Calvary in our Living Stations on Good

Congratulations to our 8th grade religious education students who received the Sacrament of Confirmation this weekend! We also would like to thank everyone who brought them to this day: parents, catechists and clergy and most of all the Holy Spirit. Friendship – According to Jesus
Henri Nouwen said of friendship: “When we honestly ask ourselves which person in our lives means the most to us, we often find that it is those who, instead of giving advice, solutions, or cures, have chosen rather to share our pain and touch our wounds with a warm and tender hand.” This definition is more in keeping with Jesus’ definition of friendship in today’s Gospel because it speaks to the sacrificial love that marks
Clinging to the Vine
Just as a branch cannot bear fruit on its own unless it remains on the vine, so neither can you unless you remain in me. I am the vine, you are the branches. Whoever remains in me and I in him will bear much fruit, because without me you can do nothing. These words from Sunday’s Gospel remind us plainly that we must spend our entire life staying connected to Jesus who is the vine.
Responding to the Good Shepherd’s Call
On this Good Shepherd Sunday, the Church asks us to be attentive to the call to priesthood, religious life, and the diaconate. “World Day of Prayer for Vocations” is an invitation to ask the Lord of the harvest to send more workers into the vineyard – more disciples who live entirely in the service of the Gospel.
